Did you just receive a certificate issued with the Virtualbadge.io technology? Here is a short guide on how to add this certificate to your LinkedIn profile.
Let's immediately get to the point: Having a certificate added to LinkedIn gives this certificate much more value!
If you were lucky to receive a certificate issued with the Virtualbadge.io technology, you have a direct connection to your LinkedIn profile, otherwise you can also just manually add any certificate to your account.
And just to make things clear: Virtualbadge.io is not the issuer of your certificate. We simply provide your issuer with the technology to automatically create and validate digital certificates.
So here is what we will talk about:
Part 1: How to add certificates from Virtualbadge.io to a LinkedIn profile
Part 2: How to add any certificate to a LinkedIn profile.
The process here is quite simple!
Your first contact with your digital certificate is always via an email.
This email can have different configurations (different texts, colors, logos and so on), but it will always invite you to get your certificate.
By clicking in the button from the email, you will be redirected to a page which invites you to connect with your preferred social media platform to proceed.
In case the certificate that you are receiving was designed with profile pictures, your profile picture from the selected social media channel will be automatically added.
You can also choose to proceed without social media. For that scenario, you might be asked to manually upload a profile picture to your certificate.
After proceeding, you will already be able to access your own personal certificate. From this page, you can download it, share it on multiple social platforms, and of course, add it as a certification to your LinkedIn profile.
In the image bellow, you will see the option to add the certificate directly to your LinkedIn profile (not as a post, but under the section “Licenses and Certifications”)
Once you click that button, a new page will open, and you will be redirected to your LinkedIn profile. All information about your certificate will automatically be prefilled for you, and you just need to click the button “Save”.
The “Credential URL” that you will see is already leading to the validation page of your personal certificate, so anyone visiting your profile can see that your credential is legit and valid.
And that is it! Your certificate is now saved in your account under the section “Licenses and Certifications”.
If you are trying to add certificates to your LinkedIn profile for the first time, you will notice that the section “Licenses and Certifications” might not be part of your profile yet.
Because of that, simply clicking on the “+” sign to add a new certificate is sadly not possible.
To add that section here is what you need to do:
If your certificate is being validated online, don't forget to add the link to your validation page under "Credential URL”.
And that is all!
* You can find the organisation ID in the URL when you access your LinkedIn Company page as an admin.
