Zapier allows you to connect Virtualbadge.io with +3,000 apps to automatically issue digital certificates.
Imagine being able to automatically send digital certificates as soon as your recipients complete their course on Kajabi. Or how about sending certificates as soon as your seminar hosted on Zoom comes to an end? Now it became simpler than ever! (you don't even need to contact any developers for it!).
With the help of Zapier you can connect Virtualbadge.io to 3,000+ other web services. Automated connections called Zaps, set up in minutes with no coding, can automate your day-to-day tasks and build workflows between apps that otherwise wouldn't be possible.
Here is the logic: Each Zap has one app as the Trigger, where your information comes from and which causes one or more Actions in other apps, where your data gets sent automatically.
And now, you can create and send digital certificates as Actions that are triggered by other apps!
You will need a Virtualbadge.io account on Pro or Expert plans, and a (free!) Zapier account to get started with the integrations.
Here are the steps:
1- Log in to our Virtualbadge.io account and set your certificate to active.
2- Log in to your Zapier account and create a new zap.
3- Choose a Trigger.
4- Choose “Virtualbadge.io” as an Action.
5- Map the all fields from the Trigger to your digital certificate.
6- Save and test your Zap 😊
Creating a digital certificate with Virtualbadge.io is really easy!
You can start a new certificate from scratch by clicking on “Create New” at any time. After that, you must complete 4 steps to set this certificate to “Active” and to be able to use it in your Zapier automations.
First step: Design your certificate
You can use one of our templates or create yours from scratch! The design of your certificate is completely white-labeled for you. Feel free to add the profile picture of your recipient if you want to certificate to be even more personal and engaging!
Second step: Setup your campaign
Here you can define your communication with your recipients. You can change the email text, create hashtags and suggested texts for when the certificates are shared via social media, and of course, add all course details to the validation pages.
Third step: Recipient View
In this tab, you will define what the Recipient View page is going to look like. This is the first page that your recipients go to after they click on the link that they receive via email to claim their certificates.
Fourth step: Add Recipients
You can add just one recipient as a test in order to be able to set your certificate to active. After that, Zapier can automatically add the other recipients with the trigger that you will create!
Once you add the first recipients to a new certificate, this certificate is automatically set to “Active”. In case you are working on a “Draft” certificate, you can go to the tab "Overview" and activate your certificate from there.
If you have any questions about the process of creating your digital certificate with Virtualbadge.io, you can schedule a free onboarding call directly here.
This step is quite easy! Just go to https://zapier.com/sign-up and log in to your account (you can also create a new account for free).
Once you are there, you can create new Zaps!
The trigger is a very important part of the Zapier automation. It will collect information and automatically send it to Virtualbadge.io, where new certificates will be created and sent.
You can choose any app from Zapier's gallery to be your trigger.
An example for your trigger could be: Every time a new line is added to a Google Sheets file, a certificate must be created.
Here you check some of the most popular triggers used for Virtualbadge.io!
Remember! Your trigger must always collect the mandatory recipient information for the certificates (Recipient Name and Recipient's Email Address). In case you are using custom fields, they must also be mapped to existing fields from your trigger.
Once you are done with creating your trigger, proceed to Action and search for Virtualbadge.io.
You will be asked to authenticate yourself with your Virtualbadge.io account, and once that is done, you will be able to choose the certificate that the new recipients should be added to.
Reminder: You can only choose between your active certificates. If you don't find the certificate that you wish, go back to your Virtualbadge.io account and make sure that it is set to active.
Now, you can easily map the information from your trigger app to your digital certificate!
Once this mapping is done once, all new entries in your trigger app will be automatically mapped to the correct fields in the new certificates.
Remember: If you have added custom fields to your certificate, you will also have to map them to fields from your trigger at this point. In the example below, one custom field is being used, and it is called "Completion Date".
Pro tip: Zapier allows you to combine information from your trigger with your certificates!
For example: If you collect “First Name” and “Last Name” separately in your trigger app, but you would like to have “First Name” and “Last Name” appearing together in the “Recipient Name” of your certificates, you can simply select both those fields when mapping the recipient's name!
Once you are done, remember to save and activate your Zap! Now, all new entries from your trigger will automatically add recipients to your digital certificates inside Virtualbadge.io :)
